Mine Ear Hast Thou Opened

Nancy Taylor Tate

A verse I love in the Psalms speaks of the Lord “opening” our ears. “Sacrifices and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.” Psalm 40:6

The Hebrew meaning of the word “opened” is “digged.” My dad used to have a painting of a shovel on his wall. I can picture that shovel as the Lord digs out the rubble of this life from our ears, that we might hear clearly that which He is speaking today.

In The Divine Disturber, Wade Taylor speaks of some of his own experiences, as he also speaks of a visitation of fire to come. Truthfully, I have been experiencing this as I have been spending time in His presence. As we are willing to allow the Lord to search our hearts, He will bring us into a place of greater hearing and tenacity, that we might move forward with boldness into that which He is calling us. I am so thankful for this aspect of God’s love that draws us ever closer to Himself as He also strengthens us for what is yet ahead.

I encourage you to also browse our website. There are many teachings written by Wade Taylor and others, as well as audio files which are a present word for today.
