Let Worship Arise

Nancy Taylor Tate

There is a little chorus I have been singing. It’s a melody that can be sung over and over; it doesn’t seem to ever end!

“You’re beautiful, beautiful Jesus. Wonderful, that’s just one of Your names! Marvelous, You’re all that and more. You’re so beautiful, beautiful Jesus.”

I was told that in the Welsh revival, they would sometimes sing the same chorus over and over, even for several hours, because of the anointing being released as they sang. I experienced just a touch of this one day in our chapel: As I sang over and over, “You’re beautiful, beautiful Jesus,” something broke inside me and there came a greater releasing of the Lord, who He is, and His presencing within me.

As I write this I am sitting here, this time with my Autoharp, as I again sing “You’re beautiful, beautiful Jesus.” In fact, I seem to be singing this melody all the time, even when I am working! How wonderful when worship gets into our hearts and rises up so our ears can hear it, then our mouths give expression!

May songs of worship that exalt the Lord Jesus Christ fill our hearts and add melody to our days. May His presence surround us, and may He be seen in and through us. May we not only find strength, but give strength and hope to others. May His love mark our lives and carry us through the day.

May we be able to say along with the Psalmist, “He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see what he has done and be amazed.  They will put their trust in the LORD.”   Psalm 40:3 NLT
