We went to see a Christmas story this year, and it was so sad. Then we went to see a Christmas musical, and that was sad too. I said, “We need something happy!” So we went home, turned on the Christmas lights, and played some beautiful Christmas music glorifying Christ. How uplifting it was for us as we celebrated Jesus, the real reason for the season!
I know some deal with sadness at the holidays; my heart goes out to them, and I remember them in prayer. I experienced a loss myself during the Christmas season some years ago and have had other sad or hard times.
Yet I have learned that the source of true joy is not in circumstances, but in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ and His peace, presence, and love in my life. With that focus, I make it through the harder times of life and enjoy the good times even more!
That is what Christmas is all about! It’s a time to celebrate! Emmanuel! God with us!
God with us – If we will be with Him, He will be with us!
“Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts” Zechariah 1:3.
The Lord is watching and waiting for us to turn to Him. He is always there with His love, peace, and presence to fill our hearts and lives.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” Matthew 1:23.
What joy this message brings us, as we again celebrate Christmas this year!
During this season, may the joy of a personal relationship with Christ fill your heart and home. May His presence be with you and strengthen you as we enter into the new year.
Our Christmas blessings to you and yours!
