Nancy Taylor Tate
As I write today, I’m sharing on a more personal level in the hope that my story will inspire you to consider what God has done in your own life and how you’ve been led through choices you’ve made. As you look at where you were, where you are today, and what you are yet moving toward, may you continue on into all God has for you.
Recently, I was having difficulty with my computer, which caused me extra time and work. But an unexpected blessing followed: I saw some things I otherwise would not have seen.
One was a note a dear friend sent in 2008. She wrote…
“I have been thinking about you this morning. Call me when you can, I had a dream… Have you been, or are you in the making of, or considering working on, a book of articles, or in that vein? I always know, when I wake up, whether my dreams are frivolous or from God. You ought to do it. This publication will lift many people up, will help them find their way, will be anointed and blessed of the Lord.”
I was so surprised when I saw it. I did not remember her telling me that. My first book was written in 2022, after the Lord had already taken her home. She did not get to see the fulfillment of her words, yet how it encouraged me today.
My writing began many years ago after someone who heard me speak, felt my message would make a good article. They transcribed it and gave it to me to edit. I still didn’t see anything in it and felt bad they had done all that work. But they also gave it to my dad, and he saw something and edited it into what became my first written article.
Through the years, my dad continued to ask me for articles and continued to edit anything I wrote before publishing it in a quarterly mailing he did at the time, then later on his website, right up until the Lord took him home in 2012.
It was his desire that I continue Parousia Ministries, which I have done, featuring his articles and having Parousia Gatherings. Then, one year, missing the week of prayer we always used to have the first week of each year, I decided I would send out an email once a day, with encouragement towards prayer, so we could have a week of prayer together.
Afterwards, some wrote and asked if I would continue sending something. From that point, I started to write again, this time once a month, so together we could seek the Lord and be encouraged in His working within our lives.
These emails have continued since then and became the foundation for my first three books: That I Might Know Him, Walking in His Ways, and Nuggets of Truth. They are available today on Amazon and can be found when you search for books by Nancy Taylor Tate. There is one more book in my heart, with certain truths that impacted my life, that I’d like to share. I’m working on that book now.
Perhaps you do not have as many years to look back on as I do. But what has God done in your life through time? How has one thing led to another in your life? Is there a dream you are still moving toward?
Or like my friend who shared her dream about me, is there someone you have encouraged, but you have not yet seen the fruit? Or maybe you are seeing their fruit and can take great joy, knowing in your heart that God allowed you to have a small part in that which is coming forth through their lives today.
A word in season, how good it is!
“A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!” Proverbs 15:23.
May we not become weary in well doing.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” Galatians 6:9.
May we move in obedience to that which God has called us to do, one day at a time.
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” Isaiah 1:19.
Looking back, my joy is not in having done this or that, but that I have done what I felt God would have me do. That I have lived out of a desire to please His heart and that I am continuing on that same path today.
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
In 1981, when I left the home we had designed and built in Florida to say yes to the call to support my dad, little did I know the path that “yes” would put me on.
Today I am thankful for not only what God has done in my life, but through my life. For it’s not the positions or titles we’ve held or the places we’ve gone, but the lives that have been touched that mean the most.
Maybe there is someone who you can encourage today, as you also take encouragement in your own life.
It is God that works in you.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” Philippians 2:13.
That which He has begun, He will perform.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6.
Reflections! Encouragement! Moving forward! Looking back, may we see the working of the Lord in our lives and in the lives of others and be encouraged. As we continue to move forward on the path He has us on today, may there be that assurance of His unfolding plan in and through our lives.
Perhaps there have been some hard times. There have been some good times, too. May we see them all woven together in the outworking of His higher purposes. May we see His hand and be encouraged in the “working together for good” of all that has happened in our lives (Romans 8:28).
In areas God has entrusted to us today, may we be encouraged. May each step lead to the next step, as we continue on, our eyes set on Him, our hearts intent on following after Him.
Through the choices we make, may Christ be formed in us. May He be seen in us today. And when that day comes that we stand before the throne, may it be Christ that is seen in us.
May the Lord bless you abundantly, and others through you, as step by step, His will continues to unfold in your life.
