A verse that I have based my life on is Proverbs 8:17, where the Lord says, “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”
Years ago, as I went through a very difficult circumstance I asked the Lord to show me if this was really true, because it did not seem so in my experience. As I continued to pray into this verse, the Lord met me in a powerful way and today I know that I know that I know it is true. The Lord loves those who love Him! Yes, He “agapes” the whole world, and desires that none would perish. But the approbation and favor of God rests on those who love Him.
Let us consider the words of this verse slowly, and carefully:
“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.” Proverbs 8:17, 21, 34-35

Lord, as we hold Your word in our hearts I pray that You will work these truths deep into our spirits. You said that You love those who love You. That there is a blessing on those who seek after You. That those who seek You, find You; that You bless them with life and favour. I set the totality of my love on You, and seek You with all of my heart. How we need Your blessing! Your favour! I open my heart to receive Your love, and all that You have said. I set myself to watch, wait, and listen in Your presence… at the posts of Your door…
